The Old Mill Restaurant, General Store and Shopping District, is a fun and interesting place to visit any time of year, but it is decked out with Fall Finery as the leaves are changing and falling among the shoppers.
The Old Mill has several things to do and explore. First, if you are hungry, then you have two delicious options. The Old Mill Restaurant offers Southern hospitality and Southern recipes all year long, but in the fall there are some tasty seasonal delights as they are cooking with pumpkin, apples and all kinds of yummy spices. And you can take home many of the mixes to make Pumpkin Spiced Pancakes, Pumpkin and Pecan pies, Apple Cakes, Sorghum Apple Bread Pudding and more. And you can buy Apple Bakers, Pie Plates and Mixing Bowls from the Pottery House to create and bake these wonderful products.
Across the street you can dine at the Pottery House Cafe and Grille for fresh-made soups, sandwiches and bakery products. Dine outside next to the rambling pond or inside close to the fire place with a view of the gardens out front. During the fall the gardens are decorated with colorful mums, pumpkins, corn stalks and seasonal decorations enhancing your
dining pleasure.
Step outside of either restaurant and you can visit the Old Mill General Store and the shops of Old Mill Square. At the General Store you can find Smoky Mountain souvenirs, mill products ground fresh at the Old Mill, jams, jellies and butters of all flavors. Other shops include Pigeon River Pottery, Farmhouse Kitchen, The Creamery, Candy Kitchen and Sassafras. Here you will find unique and homemade gifts and tasty foods and treats.
