Gatlinburg, TN

One of the United States most popular vacation destinations is Gatlinburg Tennessee, located right next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The beauty, diversity and close proximity to the Park is one of the reasons that Gatlinburg has been such a popular place for families to visit and spend their vacations. Hiking, camping, driving in Cades Cove, rafting and horseback riding in the spring, summer and fall, and snow skiing and ice skating in the winter, are just a few of the fun things to do outdoors in the Gatlinburg area.

In town there are Coaster Rides, Ziplines, Museums and Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies to visit and enjoy. The longest running live show in the Smokies, Sweet Fanny Adams, is on the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg, and they have been providing fun and laughs for over 20 years.

Since moonshine and whiskey distilling have become legalized Gatlinburg has become the home for several home brew companies. Ole Smoky Distillery started the trend and was quickly followed by Sugarlands Distilling Company, Doc Collier Moonshine and Ole Smoky Whiskey. Homemade wine and locally brewed beers are also big with Bootleggers Home Made Wine, Sugarland Cellars and Tennessee Homemade Wines, all operate in Gatlinburg. Most of the distilleries and wineries sell samples and have plenty of unique merchandise.

Of course there is plenty of fun and unique shopping, with lots of stores located along the Parkway. As you stroll the main street shopping for that perfect gift or souvenir, you can sample homemade candy, ice cream, caramel corn, grilled sausages, fudge and more from shops open to the street. And for full meals there are endless restaurants serving up Tennessee Barbecue, Mountain Trout, and a whole menu of fine food.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee is a wonderful place to take your spouse, friends or family for a memorable visit or vacation. Once you try it you will be back!
