When you think of Gatlinburg perhaps you think of the serenity of the mountains or relaxing on the front porch of you mountain cabin. But on New Year’s Eve Gatlinburg explodes with music, parties, fireworks and the ball drop from the top of the Space Needle.

But if partying with tens of thousands of people is not your idea of New Year’s fun, there is a lot to do in Pigeon Forge.
The Country Tonite Theatre has a big New Year’s Eve event following their show, with music, party favors and a balloon drop!
The Smoky Mountain Opry starts their celebration at 9pm and continues until 1am, beginning with the Opry show featuring singers, dancers, aerialists, ice skaters, lasers, pyrotechnics and exotic animals. Following the show is a meet and greet with the cast party favors, heavy hors d’ oeuvres and desserts, dancing to a live band, a big screen broadcast of the ball drop in New York City, and the countdown to midnight. Whew, what a way to bring in the new year!
The Smith Family Dinner Show begins the evening at 8pm with
dinner, followed by the show featuring oldies and gospel music, impersonations and comedy. Following the show you will get party favors and will ring in the new year with the Smith Family.
The Comedy Barn Theater will continue the “Funniest Christmas Show in the Smokies” which features a balloon drop at the end of the show.
At the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud they are putting the FUN in DysFUNctional with their holiday singing and dancing, mighty feats of strength, jaw dropping stunts and side-splitting comedy in the Christmas Disaster Dinner Show.
Of course you can come to the Smokies and relax, but on New Year’s Eve it is time to rock-in the new year with music, entertainment, dancing, food and fun in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
