Magic Beyond Belief Returns to Smoky Mountain Opry!

Magic Beyond Belief – Pigeon Forge, TN

Do you believe in magic?

You will once you see Magic Beyond Belief’s revamped production, which reopened for its fourth season on Feb. 16.

The Pigeon Forge magic show has returned to the Smoky Mountain Opry Theater and runs six days a week.

David Fee, Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group president and chief executive officer, promises that Magic Beyond Belief is “bigger, better, and brighter” this year. The magic show includes $250,000 in production upgrades, with “more vibrant colors in new lavish sets and costumes; improved state-of-the-art mood-setting lighting; and fantastic visuals throughout the entire production.”

Darren Romeo, the first and only protege of legendary magicians Siegfried and Roy, has returned to the magnificent two-hour magic show. A new sound system includes a new sound board to enhance audio quality, and two large video screens display all of the magical action.

The return to the Smoky Mountain Opry Theater has allowed Romeo to perform larger illusions on a bigger stage. The Pigeon Forge venue has also made possible the return of large animals to the magic show.

Fee says that although Magic Beyond Belief is larger, it still offers the audience an intimate experience.

Romeo pays tribute to several performers who have inspired him, including mentors Siegfried and Roy; Bobby Darin (for whom he was named); Harry Houdini; Harry Blackstone Jr; American ringmaster P.T. Barnum; and many great military heroes.

Arrangements from his favorite Broadway melodies are showcased as well.

The Pigeon Forge magic show also features a circus atmosphere with songs from the new hit movie, “The Greatest Showman.” Both real and make-believe animals are part of the production, along with actors who play sideshow misfits; a girl shot out of a cannon; dancers; and other “oddities of magic.”

Romeo adds in comic relief with parody celebrity impersonations, including Darius Rucker, Lady Gaga, and Dolly Parton.

The magic show is performed at 8 p.m. until Friday, March 2, when the Smoky Mountain Opry Theater’s “Feel the Music” show opens. After March 2, the magic show will be performed at 3 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
