Murder Mystery Dinner Show Serves Up Laughs and Great Food

MURDER MYSTERY DINNER SHOW SERVES UP GREAT FOOD & HEARTY LAUGHS

Whodunnit

I love a good “whodunnit,” as well as great company with yummy food — and Great Smoky Mountain Murder Mystery Dinner Show in Pigeon Forge didn’t disappoint one bit!

When my friend and I arrived at the theater,  we were seated at a table with other dinner guests. Our waitress took our orders, and we were given a synopsis of the production, along with a series of puzzles to reveal clues to the evening’s mystery.

Gun With The Wind

In “Gun With the Wind,” the setting is Simpson Plantation, where sweet Melody Simpson is throwing a cotillion as a fun way to present a public reading of her late father’s last will and testament. She’s also welcoming home her sister, Scarlett — who was just released from jail after being convicted as a Yankee spy! Madness and mayhem ensue, of course, and nothing is what it seems among these spies, gamblers, fools, and frauds.

Soon after I finished my delicious broccoli and cheese soup, we were introduced to Melody, Scarlett, and the other cast members (in great costumes!), and the story — entertaining, funny, clever, and a little wacky — began to quickly unfold.

Our Dinner Is To Die For

The main course included mouth-watering fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, biscuits and was served during the play’s intermission. Once the interactive production resumed, several guests played small roles — many read assigned lines from their seats.

The great murder took place, and then dessert — a divine cheesecake drizzled with chocolate — was served while we all wrote down “whodunnit,” “howdunnit,” and “whydunnit.” Lots of laughs were later shared as cast members read and reacted to some of the guests’ answers.

Bullseye… On A Fun Experience

It was a fun, memorable evening: The show was well executed and boasted great performances, dinner and dessert were excellent, and our tablemates were a delight (they included a newlywed couple from Michigan and a couple from Missouri celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary).
