Smoky Mountain Winterfest Continues…

Smoky Mountain Winterfest activities continue in Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg. The big draw through February are the millions of colored lights and light displays put on by each of the cities and many of the businesses in the area. You can drive down the Parkway from Sevierville to Gatlinburg and see dozens of lighted professional displays. Some are themed, like Nursery Rhymes, and many have motion, like the waterfall at the Mill display.

The Smokies play host to romance for Valentine’s Day which is on Tuesday the 14th. You can plan a long weekend starting on the Friday before, or come up on the 14th and start your romantic stay. Enjoy the peace and serenity that only a mountain-based get-a-way can provide where you can choose from a wide variety of cabins, hotels, chalets and condos with amenities like fireplaces, hot tubs, game rooms and big screen TVs. On February 17-19, the weekend following 14th, the City of Pigeon Forge hosts the Saddle-Up! Cowboy-themed event where you can enjoy music, storytelling, Cowboy cookin’ and Cowboy clothing and gear.

Ober Gatlinburg offers winter sports like skiing, snowboarding and tubing, and is also the host for the Tennessee Special Olympics on the last weekend in January. Of course there is a multitude of outdoor attractions that you can partake in throughout the area like ziplining, go-kart racing, mini-golf and Alpine Coaster sliding. Plus there are live shows to see, indoor attractions to explore, unique shopping activities and tasty restaurants to enjoy.
