WHAT’S THE BUZZ IN THE SMOKIES?

2014 is going out with a bang in the Smokies
as Holiday activities continue right through the New Year. Plus there are on-going activities of note, so read on!

Winterfest is all a-glow as the three Smoky Mountain cities of Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg, TN celebrate with millions of lights and light displays through February of 2015. You can ride the Trolley’s in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg and get a guided tour of the best displays in each city.

Dollywood’s “Smoky Mountain Christmas” continues through the first of the year as does Shadrack’s “Christmas Wonderland” light, sound and music display at Smokies Stadium at I-40 and Exit 407                                                    in Kodak, TN.

Foxfire Mountain is open for ziplining with a new line that is the second highest and longest in the United States, and several other ziplines and outdoor activities like horseback riding and go-karting are running full speed through the holidays. And, on top of the mountain, Ober Gatlinburg is open for skiing, ice skating and tubing.


If you don’t get enough outdoor exercise you can visit 24/7 Workout Anytime, a new gym located in Governor’s Crossing in Sevierville. Free weights, Matrix machines, Elliptical and Treadmills, Hydromassage and Tanning beds, locker room with showers, and trainers available to help you get into shape or stay in shape.

And gear-up to attend “Wilderness Wildlife Week” at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, the first week of January, 2015. If you have any interest in the out-of-doors this is the place to be as there are seminars, hikes and plenty of gear and merchandise to prepare you for your time outside.

There’s plenty of live entertainment with theaters like “The Comedy Barn” “Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show” running on the weekends in January of 2015.
