How it all started.
Jersey Mike’s authentic sub sandwiches actually began as Mike’s Subs in 1956 in the seaside town of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. A popular attraction for visitors of the Jersey Shore, employee Peter Cancro bought the business at the tender age of 17. He expanded the restaurant and would later franchise Mike’s concept in 1987. Cancro changed the name to Jersey Mike’s Subs to capture the authenticity of where the authentic sub sandwich was born.
