Great Smoky Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival Celebrates its Third Year Running with Something for Everyone!
Up, Up, & Away
On August 17, 2019, the Great Smoky Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival will celebrate its third year with high expectations. The 2019 event will return to the Townsend Visitors Center located at 7906 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Everyone will find something to enjoy at this year’s festival.
Featuring Local Vendors
The event will feature food trucks, beer tents, wine tastings and various local vendors. Festival admission is FREE, with the excpetion of wine tasting tickets. You can purchase a ticket on-site for $10, which includes a gift with purchase. Since the event has grown each year, parking will be available for purchase in advance at $20, or on-site for $25 the day of the event.
Live Entertainment, Crafts, & Food
There will be live entertainment, local crafters both demonstrating and selling thier work, and a food truck court. Several professional balloonist light up the evening sky with a beautiful balloon glow! Sing along with some tasty food as you watch the hot air balloons fill the Tennessee sky.
Enjoy a Night Out
There will be kid-friendly activities like Face Painting, Rock Climbing, Dr. Magical Balloons, Eurobungy, and a Trackless Train all for FREE. Enjoy a night out with your family and friends as you bask in the summertime, and watch the sky be filled with a spectrum of color like you’ve never seen before.
Balloon Glow Across the Smoky Mountain Sky
The night will end with a balloon glow from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tethered balloon rides will allow attendees to ride and bask in the picturesque scenery from the hot air balloons, weather permitting.
