Elviras Cafe in Wears Valley offers Southern cooking with a bit of a twist!
[URIS id=2485]
Elvira’s Cafe in beautiful Wears Valley offers a unique taste on the food of Southern Tennessee with just a bit of Russian heritage.
You’ll find farm fresh food and local ingredients served with some of the best hospitality in the Smokies. The local and tourist favorite is owned by Siberia native Elvira Grant, who fell in love with Tennessee when she was visiting in the summer of 2001 for a student work program. Shortly after she returned home, she realized the Volunteer State was where she was meant to settle down and moved to Townsend. After years of hard work and obtaining her citizenship, Elvira opened her cafe in December 2012.
Ever since, some of the best food you’ll ever eat has been gracing her plates! For breakfast, you might choose a full stack of hot cakes — your choice of buttermilk or buckwheat. Or maybe the Mountain Man Omelet is more your style: It’s a three-egg omelet filled with Swaggerty sausage, Applewood smoked bacon and ham, cheddar cheese, roasted bell peppers, mushrooms, and caramelized onions topped with house-made sausage gravy. You can also choose from a variety of specialty breakfast crepes.
If you’re in the area for lunch, be sure to try the Grown Up Grilled Cheese or the No. 1 in Tennessee Benton’s Bacon BLT.
For dinner, favorites include dishes like the Country Ham Steak and Blackened North Carolina Mountain trout.
Sides like fried apples, fried okra, pickled beets, and more make the meals complete.
